My Purpose for AA

Why Choose Athlete's Axis?

In today's basketball world, having a personal trainer is a common practice for players of all ages. Many trainers focus on flashy moves, endless dribbling drills, and taking hundreds of shots, often without explaining when and why to use these skills. While I believe training is essential, its true value lies in improving real game performance.

When I created Athlete's Axis, my goal was to help players boost their basketball IQ and skills without adding extra stress. I don't want to replace current trainers but to explain the purpose behind each drill.

Through Athlete's Axis, athletes can consult with me anytime. In addition to the in-depth film analysis I do with AA athletes, everyone can reach out to me for advice. My career as a professional player keeps me from doing in-person training throughout the year due to my busy overseas schedule. However, Athlete's Axis allows me to guide and support athletes while I continue my own journey.

A Scholar of the Game

My journey into individual basketball workouts began in my first year at Siena College. I was lucky to have a veteran teammate who took me under his wing and showed me the power of solo training without a coach.

Hard work and dedication paid off, and I saw real improvements in my game. But the biggest lesson I learned in college was the value of film study.

I had the chance to learn from Fran McCaffery, one of the best college coaches. He made us study game footage regularly. At first, I didn't understand why we watched film 4-5 times a week, but after three months, I was hooked. Film study showed me areas to improve and gave me strategies to beat opponents.

After college, I joined the Miami Heat for 18 months. There, Head Coach Erik Spoelstra also emphasized the importance of film study.

For over a decade now, I've played in Europe. Some teams use video and scouting reports, but many don't. Often, film study is just stats on paper.

Driven by a desire to outsmart my competition and improve myself, I've continued to study film on my own, creating my own scouting reports. Many of my teammates have also found film study to be a game-changer, giving them a strategic edge.

I want to pass this valuable knowledge to the next generation, helping them improve and excel in their basketball journeys.
